The Family at Hope House Haiti
A Family for lifeYvrose and Pierre Richard Telfort, a Haitian couple, are Mammy and Pappy to 38 children. Hope House is a genuine family rooted in love. All those who have visited our family can testify to this. Each member of the family has a real sense of belonging. Older siblings help the younger children. There are no lists of chores; from cooking to cleaning everything just gets done as the family unit work together in union.

A home for lifeOur family home is different to many other organisational orphanages in Haiti. Each of our children have a home for life. They choose when to leave the home; not just because they have reached adulthood. They will have developed life skills for their own families. Many of the young people learn trades such as sewing, carpentry, welding or farming.
Every family needs a dog and we are no different. Our dog is called Amigo, and our cat Meme. Puppies and kittens are a regular event in our home. |
