Why Sponsor a TeacherEducation alleviates poverty and changes lives. Hope Christian Academy (HCA) is one of Haiti's few free schools, serving some of the poorest children. It employs 24 full time teachers and staff for the Kindergarten and Primary schools, and up to 20 Secondary School Teachers who are paid by the hour. Some teaches have over 100 students in their classes.
Sponsoring a teacher is more effective than sponsoring a child as its effect is felt by scores of children a month, who each receive a life-changing education. By sponsoring a teacher, you will help transform one of the world's poorest nations. How much does it cost?In Haiti a teacher earns around $150 (£115) a month. You can choose to support a whole salary, or offer to support part of a salary along with others, it's up to you. During your sponsorship, you will receive periodic letters from your teacher and news from us. We aim to ensure you receive as a minimum an annual update.
