Hope Tree of Life

In 2005, Yvrose and the original co- founders of Hope House Haiti registered a charity in Haiti called ‘Hope Tree of Life’. This is the only registered charity in Haiti that solely supports Hope House Haiti.     Hope Tree of Life is an umbrella for Hope House Haiti, Hope Christian Academy, the Church, and the Farm.

Hope House Haiti (UK)

Having heard about the Hope House Haiti school and orphanage through a family member, two parents from Bolney School decided to visit Haiti in 2012 with the aim of forming a school twinning between Hope Christian Academy and Bolney CEP primary school.  After the visit they felt inspired to do much more and the idea of a charity was formed.     Hope House Haiti (UK) was officially launched in April 2013, and entered into the Register of Charities with Charity Number 1160880.

The Mission Statement of the charity, as included in the constitution, is:
‘The charity provides funding, professional guidance and advice to ‘Hope House, Haiti’.    ‘Hope House, Haiti’ provides a home environment for vulnerable children to live in, including receiving adequate nutrition and access to healthcare. It also seeks to provide free education for the most vulnerable children in the community and in addition develops vocational opportunities through the establishment of social enterprises.’

Hope House Haiti (UK) aims to send as much of the money donated to Haiti as possible.  We have no paid staff and those who work with us are volunteers, although in some cases we do need to fund professional services where they cannot be obtained voluntarily.  Whilst there are inevitably some Administration costs (our biggest being Insurance and Bank Transfer costs) we aim to maintain these as low as possible.

The current officers and Trustees of Hope House Haiti (UK) are:
          Chairperson: Joan Baker
          Secretary:     Yvonne Fulcher
          Treasurer:     Jonathan Masters
Trustees:      Joan Baker, Jean Whiting, Yvonne Fulcher, Jonathan Masters, Will Kemp
